Foundation for Pool & Spa Industry Education School Opens in Sacramento

After months of anticipation, The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals™ (APSP)-supported Foundation for Pool & Spa Industry Education School has opened for business.

Using the latest in multi-media technologies, the 8600 square foot facility boasts two state-of-the-art classrooms fully equipped for cutting-edge education and conferencing. Using the latest innovations in technical instruction, the classrooms are built with the future in mind and will offer on-line web-based training in coming months.

Each of the two 27-student classrooms has high-resolution video projectors beaming to three 4 x 5 foot screens, plus a high-definition sound system. An indoor demonstration pool and lab are in the immediate future.

Classes are divided into learning teams of three students and each team has its own 17” interactive monitor. A complete package of APSP educational opportunities is offered such as the TECH I and TECH II programs, CBP Certified Building Professional® program, NSPF’s Certified Pool Operator course, and others. Funded in large part by a grant of $150,000 from The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals, together with a separate line of credit and donations of educational course materials from the APSP, as well as other grants from manufacturers and industry supporters, the FPSIE school (informally called “fipsy”), also will host industry trade association meetings, manufacturer training and seminars, and video conferencing to sites around the nation.



The fully-equipped facility has designated parking for 60 vehicles and is available for rental at nominal rates.
